Amadeus
has partnered with ACE Insurance to offer online travel insurance products through travel agencies in Hong Kong.
The collaboration will make the
insurance provider, the first in Hong Kong to offer travel insurance products through Amadeus. According
to industry estimates, the travel insurance industry in Hong Kong is estimated to grow at 10-15%.
With the implementation, travel agents will be able to offer ACE travel insurance products
through the Amadeus reservation system in the same way they sell other travel-related products and services. Complete integration also means that accurate travel and
insurance details are available to the agents’ own back-office business accounting systems. Consumers too, will benefit from instant travel
insurance at the time of booking, without the need to source it independently.
For ACE Insurance, the solution will help reduce distribution and processing costs as well as offer enhanced services to customers, Mr Richard
Wyber, General Manager Accident and Health for ACE Insurance Limited (Hong Kong)
said, “We have worked hard to ensure we have a slew of travel insurance products that can provide both world-class financial protection and medical assistance should our customers require our help. We
are very pleased to be working with Amadeus in a partnership that will ensure customers receive outstanding value and service.”
ACE Insurance will be introducing a new range of travel insurance products targeted at travelers to Asia Pacific, China and other global
destinations, through selected travel agencies in Hong Kong.
Commenting on the partnership, Mr Louis Lee, General Manager for Amadeus Hong Kong
said, “We are pleased to partner ACE Insurance to provide a service which will benefit both travel agencies and consumers. With this, we remain committed to providing travel agencies with solutions
that will enable them to deliver greater value and service to their customers. Travel agents will now be able to deliver total packages comprising air,
hotel and car and insurance products.”
