Korean Air
has launched regular cargo operations to Chennai, India. The airline will operate one cargo flight per week
which will be increased to two weekly flights in May this year.
Korean
Air also
operates cargo flights to Mumbai (Bombay) and New Delhi. A B747-400 freighter will be operated to Chennai, significantly
expanding the airline’s cargo network to one of the world’s emerging markets.
Chennai is home to the production facilities of many Korean and international companies such as Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Hyundai
Motor Company and Nokia. It is fast becoming a global industrial center.
Chennai is strategically located in the southern Indian region and it is
increasing used as a transportation and connection hub. Major parts imported/exported to and from Chennai include cellular phones, vehicle parts
and textiles.
