Finnair Cargo and Cargolux Airlines International S.A.
are increasing co-operation on joint all-cargo flights using Cargolux Boeing 747F
aircraft.
“With this cooperation we are aiming to meet air cargo demand coming specifically from the Swedish market, but we can also get Finnish cargo
on board thanks to good truck connections,” explained Vice President Timo Riihimäki from Finnair Cargo.
Following the Luxemburg-Helsinki-Hong Kong service, successfully launched two years ago, Finnair Cargo and Cargolux will be introducing a
new freighter service between Luxemburg-Gothenburg and New York as of January 6th, 2007.
The flight will be operated weekly by 747-200 freighter aircraft on Saturdays from Gothenburg to New York. It will be returning to Gothenburg on
Sundays.
In 2005 Finnair carried over 90 million kilos of cargo and mail.
