Korean Air signs with Connexion by Boeing to Become Asia's First Authorized Modification Center

Korean Air and Connexion by Boeing, have signed an agreement for the airline to become the first "authorized modification center" for the retrofit installation of the Connexion by Boeing high-speed in-flight Internet service aboard aircraft.

As part of the three year contract, Korean Air will retrofit other carriers with the Connexion by Boeing service. As an authorized modification center, Korean Air has met Connexion by Boeing standards for installation quality, schedule, and performance. Korean Air is the first airline to receive this distinction.

A Korean Air 747-400 was the 100th commercial installation of the Connexion by Boeing service.

"The growth and popularity of the Connexion by Boeing service has been remarkable," said Lianne Stein, vice president, commercial aviation business, Connexion by Boeing. "This partnership with Korean Air ensures that our airline customers can receive high quality installation of our award-winning service by an experienced, reputable provider."

By mid-2007, all of Korean Air's mid-long range aircraft will have the Connexion by Boeing services installed.
