Galileo
International has launched Galileo Reach in the Asian region. This is an online product for travel consolidators and their sub-agents to
manage their business in a more effective way by improving operational efficiency and thereby
benefit from savings in time and money.
Galileo Reach
integrates consolidator and sub-agency workflows by providing air fare loading, search and booking functionalities. It
streamlines the handling of nett fares between consolidators and their sub-agencies which are then immediately made available to their customers.
Mr. Enrico Bisello, Director of Product Management, Asia, Travelport, said “Galileo Reach was created as a result of specific customer feedback,
and is designed to meet the needs of Asian consolidators. Currently, largely manual communications steps between consolidators and their
sub-agents lead to delays in processing booking requests. This product completely eliminates that problem and enables consolidators to mark up
and load their fares on the system for immediate online availability. Sub-agents can then easily go online and complete a booking for their
customers. Galileo Reach also enables consolidators to sell directly to their own customers.”
Mr. Simon Nowroz, Travelport Asia’s newly appointed Managing Director concluded, “The significant cost benefits and competitive advantages that
can be achieved through use of Galileo Reach coupled with our focus on customer support makes us confident that the response to Galileo Reach
will be extremely positive in the marketplace.”
Launched in July 2006, the product will be made available in key markets including Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore, as well as other major
markets in Asia.
