Shenzhen has gone ‘Grand’ with the launch of Grand Mercure Oriental Ginza Shenzhen, bringing a distinctive new style to southern
China’s Pearl River Delta region.
The 481-room Grand Mercure Oriental Ginza Shenzhen first opened in September
2005 and the hotel entered Accor’s China network on 8 November. Its contemporarily design suits its prime Futian District location, while half of the hotel’s rooms offer pleasant views of
Shenzhen Bay and the green hills of Hong Kong's New Territories. The 36-sqm rooms feature glass-panelled kitchenettes with bay view
that are well suited for long-stay guests.
As a focal point of Shenzhen city, the hotel is surrounded by the commercial offices and key ministries of the Futian District Government.
The Zhuzhilin subway station is right opposite the hotel, which connects to Shenzhen International Exhibition Centre in five minutes.
“We are delighted to add Grand Mercure Oriental Ginza Shenzhen as the latest in our deluxe collection of city hotels,” said Brian
Deeson, Senior Vice President Asia Pacific & CEO Greater China.
“The launch in a major commercial centre like Shenzhen, where Accor already has a very strong presence will help elevate the brand in
the mind of Chinese consumers who are travelling both domestically and internationally in greater numbers than ever before. We expect
Grand Mercure Oriental Ginza Shenzhen will attract considerable interest from international travellers as the brand continues to expand
around Asia Pacific.”
The Grand Mercure is well situated as the crossroads to the economic centres of the Pearl River Delta. It is only 10 minutes from Huang
Gang boarder crossing to Hong Kong, 20 minutes from Lo Wu border and Shenzhen Railway Station linking up Hong Kong to the south
and Guangzhou and the rest of the country to its north. It is also only 15 minutes from Shekou Ferry Terminal (Jetfoil to Hong Kong and
Macau) and a 30-minute drive from Shenzhen International Airport.
The hotel operates three restaurants, bar, tea house and a night club. There are 12 meeting rooms and 2 larger multi-function rooms
(450sqm and 250sqm) catering to the regions strong corporate meetings and incentive markets. For leisure pursuits the hotel offers an
