While most will be gawking at the
Airbus A380 aircraft at this year’s Asian Aerospace exhibition, several lucky visitors will get to bring it home.
Singapore Airlines is giving away one commemorative metre by metre “First to Fly” model aircraft and several smaller scaled models at a lucky draw at
the Asian Aerospace. The exclusive collector A380 aircraft model is in the colours of launch customer Singapore Airlines.
To qualify, participants simply need to answer one simple question about Singapore Airlines and the A380. The lucky draw coupons can be obtained at the main visitors’
registration counters. Asian Aerospace 2006 will be held at the Singapore Changi Exhibition Centre from 21 to 26 February.
Visitors to the exhibition will also be able to find out more about the Singapore Airlines A380 at the Singapore Airlines Engineering Company booth that is located in Hall
A, booth A921. There is also a range of A380-themed collaterals to be given away.
The A380, the world’s largest passenger aircraft, will be on static display throughout the duration of the exhibition. Singaporeans and visitors to the air show will also be
able to catch the double-decker in flight as Airbus test pilots conduct daily flying demonstrations, from 1230hrs to 1400hrs on 21 February and from 1130hrs to 1250hrs
on 22-26 February.
With a length of 72.7 metres, wingspan of 79.8 metres and a height of 24.1 metres, the A380 is the largest passenger aircraft ever to be built.
Singapore Airlines will be the first airline in the world to operate the A380. The Airline has 10 A380 aircraft on firm order and 15 on option. The aircraft will first be used on
the Kangaroo route between Singapore, Sydney and London.
