Embraer delivers First Embraer 190 to TAME

Travel News Asia Tuesday, 13 June 2006

Embraer has delivered its third aircraft to Ecuadorian airline TAME Línea Aérea del Ecuador, a 104-seat Embraer 190.

TAME flies roughly 3,500 passengers per day and serves 14 destinations in Ecuador. It also offers a service to Cali, in Colombia. The carrier has been operating for 43 years and has transported more than 30 million passengers.

The Embraer 190 joins the two Embraer 170s already in operation within TAME’s current fleet. The airline also holds four options on aircraft of the Embraer 170/190 family.

“The incorporation of a new EMBRAER 190 to our fleet is a milestone for TAME and Ecuador’s airline market. This aircraft will be important to improve our domestic and international services and increase operating efficiency on special runways, such as those of Cuenca, in the Andean region, and those of San Cristóbal, on the Galapagos islands,” said Jorge Cabezas Quiroz, TAME CEO.
