International is marking this year’s participation in the Philippine Travel Agencies Association’s (PTAA’s) 13th Travel Tour Expo (TTE) 2006, not only as
the event’s Gold Sponsor, but by celebrating a series of significant market developments achieved during 2005 and new significant product announcements for 2006.
Marking the 25th anniversary of PTAA, TTE 2006 provides the ideal platform for key target groups in the travel tour industry to promote new and expanded product
offerings in the Philippines.
Mr. Andrew Ling, Regional Manager - Philippines,
said that participation at TTE 2006, the Philippine’s most important travel trade event, is an important and necessary
component of the marketing plans of major travel companies operating in the Philippines, and Galileo’s participation will enhance and strengthen the presence of Galileo
throughout the industry.
“In 2005, we continued to expand the number of airlines e-ticketing on Galileo in the Philippines, namely Thai Airways, China Airlines, American Airlines, America West,
Japan Airlines, Cathay Pacific and Swiss Airlines. Such additions have further strengthened our position in the Philippine market,” Mr. Ling
said.
Mr. Ling went on to say that “2005 represented a year of growth and expansion, driven by additional content and product enhancements on the Galileo GDS platform as
well as the deployment of a fully integrated agency front-to-back office accounting system in eight customer operations, with another 10 expected in the first half of 2006.
Such achievements have led to securing the business of two of the top 10 agencies in the market, including Sharp Travel, which serves marine and corporate
channels.”
“We will also be officially launching two new on-line booking tools at this year’s event that will greatly simplify the way agencies offer travel content to their customers.
The first is Galileo Flight Integrator, the only GDS-based booking tool that provides access to AirAsia flights today and secondly, Galileo Leisure, the new on-line
booking tool that allows travel agents to integrate hotel, transfers, sightseeing and rail bookings into a Galileo PNR. We are very excited about these new products and
what they will mean to the Philippine travel community,” added Mr. Ling.
