The Mobil Four-Star Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Washington D.C.
has launched an exclusive lymphatic treatment, Vitality Ritual for Face and
Back, designed to remove toxins from skin and body, promoting total cleansing. This unique treatment
aims to relax and renew mind, body and spirit while stimulating the metabolism and releasing built-up tension stored in muscles.
Designed by The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Washington D.C.’s spa esthetician, Sergey Krupnov, the 80-minute, Vitality Ritual for Face and
Back, is a manual therapy. This highly specialized treatment uses specific massage to stimulate the lymphatic system,
encouraging it to work more efficiently, which in turn boosts the immune system, clears blockages, eliminates toxins and transports
nutrients to the cells.
As well as helping the body ward off illness, the techniques used in this treatment can have a positive physical effect, improving the
appearance of the skin and reducing puffiness. As with other massage, it can help restore the body’s equilibrium and promote general
feelings of health, and thus vitality.
The ritual first begins with concentration on the release of tension and strain in the back for 30 minutes, using only the manual lymphatic
release technique. The therapist then shifts concentration to the face, spending the remaining 50 minutes on facial cleansing and
massage, followed by an additional lymphatic massage with a nourishing oil. The effects of the treatment can be immediate, and are
especially long lasting with subsequent sessions.
Originating in Eastern Europe, Sergey has a doctoral degree in therapeutic internal medicine. With more than ten years experience in spas
and esthetics, he brings his wealth of knowledge to The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Washington D.C. combining traditional lymphatic
release with his own specialty techniques.
Priced at
US$250, exclusive of tax and gratuities, the Vitality Ritual for Face and Back is
currently only available at The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Washington D.C. Appointments are recommended.
