Boeing
has appointed Stan Deal as Vice President Asia Pacific Sales for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, reporting to Larry Dickenson, vice
president, Boeing Commercial Airplanes Sales. Deal will be responsible for sales in Japan, Korea, Singapore, Australia, Thailand, New
Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
Additionally, Rob Laird, vice president Greater China Sales, will be responsible for sales in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the Philippines,
and also will report to Dickenson.
"Rob and Stan demonstrate a deep commitment to building strong relationships with our airline customers," said Dickenson. "The
Asia Pacific region has played a critical role for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, including our efforts to launch both the Boeing 777 and 787
jetliners. Stan and Rob will do a marvelous job in continuing to strengthen those relationships. By asking both to focus on Asia, we have a
robust team in place for this very important Boeing market."
Deal returns to Commercial Airplanes Sales following an assignment at
Connexion by
Boeing, where he led Boeing's orderly exit from the
company's high-speed broadband communications business. With Deal's departure from Connexion by Boeing, final efforts to close the
business will be led by Curt Nohavec, chief financial officer for Boeing Shared Services. In this role, Nohavec will report to Shep Hill,
senior vice president Business Development and Strategy for Boeing.
Deal previously served as vice president of Commercial Airplanes Sales and Marketing Operations, which followed his sales leadership
role for Connexion by Boeing. Deal also held various positions within Boeing, including leading key initiatives for the 717 program. He
also served as Japan Airlines program manager on the MD-11 program.
Since February 2001, Laird has served as vice president of China Sales for Commercial Airplanes. Previously, Laird was deputy to the vice
president and business director for Commercial Sales. Prior to this assignment he supported Dickenson in a similar capacity for the Asia
Pacific region.
Laird has a broad background in sales and marketing and has worked numerous assignments in the Asia Pacific region, as well as Africa.
