Hong Kong football fans are eagerly anticipating an exciting year of international football that kicks off with the 2006 Carlsberg Cup on the first day of Chinese New
Year.
Ticket prices are
HK$350, HK$280, HK$220 and HK$150 depending on selected seating. Students and senior citizens can enjoy a special concession rate of
HK$100 for Carlsberg Cup tickets. Tickets will go on sale from 14 January 2006 and can be purchased from the HKFA Office in Ho Man Tin or the Hong Kong Stadium. The HK$220 tickets (Upper
level – Free Seating) can also be purchased from 30 designated 7-11 outlets
from 14 January to 6pm on 27 January.
Featuring two World Cup qualified teams (Croatia and Korea Republic) and a traditional European soccer power Denmark taking on Hong Kong’s best players, the 2006
Carlsberg Cup will be played over the first and fourth day of the Chinese New Year holiday (29 January and 1 February 2006) at the Hong Kong Stadium.
In the knock-out stages of the Cup (29 January), World Cup 2006 qualifier Croatia will encounter fellow World Cup qualifiers Korea Republic in the tournament’s first
match at 3:00pm. The second knock-out match will be played between Denmark and the Hong Kong Representative Team at 5:15pm. On 1 February 2006, the
first-runner up decider will kick-off at 6:00pm while the Carlsberg Cup final will be played at 8:15pm.
Football
fans will have a chance to admire the world-class skills of the Denmark and Korea Republic teams in the training sessions on 28 January 2006 (at 10:00am and
11:15am at the Hong Kong Stadium). For every 2006 Carlsberg Cup ticket sold from any of the official ticket sales channels on or before 27 January 2006, the buyer will
receive two complimentary training session tickets, which will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.
In keeping with its proud role as a strong supporter of football around the world, HKFA also announced an important fillip for local football fans with a special ticket
incentive for the Carlsberg Cup. Anyone presenting five same price ticket stubs from five different local match days during the period of 10 December 2005 to 22 January
2006 (not including Hong Kong league and Hong Kong–Guangdong Cup matches played in China) will receive a complimentary Carlsberg Cup ticket for the North or
South Stand for every purchase of the 2006 Carlsberg Cup ticket. The Carlsberg Cup tickets will be distributed based on the equivalent ticket prices as the league stubs
(either normal price or special concession tickets).
