Seventy years ago when
British Airways service first started, it took eight days for the
airline's flights to get from Hong Kong to London. These days most
travellers still think of the 12-hour journey as a long one, so to give customers a treat the airline is offering a free upgrade in one direction for those who book a
return flight between now and June 23, 2006.
Customers travelling one-way in World Traveller will also get to experience World Traveller Plus, the premier economy cabin, with its even wider
seat, extra 7-inches of leg-room, dedicated environment and in-seat lap-top power and telephones.
Those booked in World Traveller Plus will be able to upgrade on one leg to Club World, the airline’s award-winning business class cabin, with its
patented seats that adjust to a fully flat 6ft bed allowing customers to sleep, relax or work.
And those travelling in Club World will enjoy British Airways’ First class experience. The cabin, with just 14 private seats, boasts fully flat 6’6” beds,
an a la carte menu developed by a panel of world-renowned chefs, a personalised service from the highly trained staff, access to the FIRST lounges
and personalised in-flight entertainment.
Choi Fong, British Airways’ marketing manager, Greater China and the Philippines,
said, “This is an excellent opportunity for our customers. At no additional cost to them they can experience not just one but two of British Airways’ cabins and all the benefits they offer.”
To
enjoy this special promotion, tickets must be bought by June 23, 2006 and are only valid on flights departing from Hong Kong before September
30, 2006.
The ticket is valid for 30 days for customers booking to travel in World Traveller and World Traveller Plus, and one year for customers booking their
tickets in Club World.
Airfares permit an upgrade to the next cabin on one sector only. Upgrade sectors will be confirmed at the time of booking.
These fares also apply on Qantas flights to London.
