Virgin Atlantic allows Members to Purchase Miles online

Virgin Atlantic has launched Flying Club Buy Miles, a scheme by which Flying Club members that do not have enough miles to redeem on a flight, upgrade or other reward, can purchase the miles they need online. In addition, Flying Club members can purchase miles as a gift for a friend or colleague.

Alan Lias, Head of Loyalty for Virgin Atlantic said, “I am delighted that we are able to offer this service to our Flying Club members so that they can now buy the extra miles they need to purchase the trip they are saving towards. We are also sure that the Gift Miles will be popular – perfect for those people who love to travel!”

Buy Miles allows Flying Club members to purchase up to 25,000 miles in any calendar year, in increments of 1000. Members can purchase 1000 miles for £30 and 5000 miles for £90. Flying Club members need to log in to their Flying Club account and select ‘Buy Miles’. From there, the member will automatically transfer to a secure website where they can make their purchase. On acceptance of their payment, the miles will be added to the member’s account. For Gift Miles, the mileage will be added to the nominated person’s account.

As a member of Flying Club, passengers who fly with Virgin Atlantic, even on the lowest Economy fare, will earn Flying Club miles, which can then be spent on a host of rewards. Passengers can also earn miles with the airline's Flying Club partners, which include other airlines, hotels, restaurants and a range of companies around the world.
