Per
Aquum Resorts & Spas is seeking a
talented, Group Director Business Development, who will report to the Chief Executive and work closely with
the General Managers and onsite Business Development teams.
Playing a pivotal role, the Group Director of Business Development will ensure that Per Aquum continues as a market leader in an increasingly competitive field.
This position is responsible for overseeing the business development of a number of properties and the company as a whole. Properties include:
Huvafen Fushi, Maldives – A ‘Waking Dream’ set within its own lagoon. A pristine island resort offering 43 bungalows fusing contemporary design with traditional
Maldivian style. Home to the world’s first underwater spa rooms.
Dhoni Mighili, Maldives – A very private affair. Guests book one of six luxury dhonis, traditional Maldivian sailboats, each paired with its own sensually-designed
bungalow. Offering exclusive-use bookings of the entire island.
The Fortress, Sri Lanka – Old Ceylon. Modern Asia. A resort fashioned in the style of a powerful fortress. Walled gardens sheltering 49 seductive rooms and suites. A
healing spa and chic dining experiences. Located on Sir Lanka’s southern coast in the historic region of Galle. Opening June 2006.
Desert Palms, Dubai – Revel in the game of Kings at
one of Dubai’s most exclusive country estates. 24 luxurious resort rooms and villas showcasing the fine art of polo.
Experience the serenity and authentic equine ambience amidst lush grounds. Opening September 2006.
Vie, Seychelles – Primal luxury. Tent villas draped in raw beauty. A designer eco-embracing resort and treetop spa enshrouded in verdant jungle. Showcasing the rich
natural diversity of Silhouette Island. Opening 2008.
A number of additional properties are under development. Other business units include
the growing Spa Collection consisting of five operating spas within the Maldives
and other projects underway and the Residences division which is currently being launched.
The Group Director of Business Development will oversee and direct all aspects of business development – both strategic planning and execution – to ensure each
property delivers a market share premium and stakeholder returns. It is essential that
the candidate exhibits highly developed strategic thinking and innovation, as well as the
ability to build solid relationships.
The ideal candidate would have worked in the luxury market and have existing relationships with leading tour operators and influential journalists.
He/She will possess a strong and established track record in developing and shaping complex long term partnerships to deliver impressive business outcomes for all parties.
Overseeing a Public Relations manager and PR consultants in six countries across the globe,
the candidate will be instrumental in the ongoing development of the
group's corporate identity through partnerships with brand consultants and maintaining integrity of the branding in the market place.
The candidate will be required to develop financially sound strategies and tactics for penetration through a range of media, including the development and implementation of e-commerce strategies.
The Group Director of Business Development must
also have an excellent understanding of high end travel industry market intelligence: emerging trends, competition, and tools and techniques that can effectively be utilised to develop and
promote Per Aquum.
