HK PolyU to hold 5th Hong Kong Winter School 2007 between 29 January - 3 February 2007

The 5th Hong Kong Winter School (2007) developed by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s School of Hotel & Tourism Management, jointly with the Hong Kong Hotels Association, will be held on 29 January 2007 – 3 February 2007.

The Winter School is an executive training programme dedicated to senior hotel management. As the hotel industry faces many challenges, notably, stiff competition, increasing costs and labour shortages, the Hong Kong Winter School 2007 aims to help the executives to develop their skills, deepen their understanding, and help them to make a strategic contribution to the development and growth of their organization. The programme uses cutting-edge research and management tools to equip the executives for the future.

The Hong Kong Winter School will offer three in-depth workshops each covering two full days. The workshops will be leading-edge, practical and applied. Executives can choose to take one, two or three workshops. The three workshops are:

- Strategic Marketing Management by Professor Cathy Hsu, Professor & Associate Director, School of Hotel & Tourism Management, HK PolyU and Mr Jeffrey Flowers, President, Marco Polo Hotels

- Strategic Financial Management by Dr Prakash Chathoth, Assistant Professor, School of Hotel & Tourism Management, HK PolyU and Mr Tim Cheung, Director of Finance, The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong

- Strategic Human Resources Management by Dr Simon Wong, Assistant Professor, School of Hotel & Tourism Management, HK PolyU and Mr James Lu, Executive Director, Hong Kong Hotels Association

The registration fee for each workshop is US$650.
