Visa
International has launched Visa Bill Pay, an online service that enables Visa cardholders in
Singapore to make bill payments conveniently using their Visa cards. Singapore is the first
country in Southeast Asia to introduce Visa Bill Pay.
The service is being offered through Singapore Post, which provides and manages bill
payment services in Singapore under its vPOST service. Cardholders can visit
www.visabillpay.com.sg to pay bills and set up reminder services on the Visa Bill Pay website.
The service is also available on StarHub’s i-mode, which allows users to make convenient
secure bill payments on their i-mode mobile phone using their Visa cards. There is no
subscription fee for this service.
Gordon Cooper, Visa’s country manager for Singapore and Brunei said, “Visa Bill Pay is a
convenient service that will change the way bills are paid in Singapore. The convenience
appeals both to billers and consumers. Consumers can now simplify the task of paying several
bills. Consumers need only log onto one site and pay all their bills using their Visa cards.”
He added that cardholders could avail of the credit period for repayment
as well as earn applicable reward points for every payment. “Billers have access to a faster, efficient and secure way to
receive payment from consumers, thereby reducing their administration costs.”
“Singapore Post’s track record of innovation and quality made them the ideal long-term partner
for Visa to bring electronic billing and payment services to Visa cardholders,” he added.
On the partnership with Visa, Ms Lynette Koh, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing,
Singapore Post, said, “By combining vPOST’s electronic billing and payment expertise and
Visa’s payment brand leadership, we are now able to offer a more attractive and convenient
service to both billers and cardholders.”
In addition to www.visabillpay.com.sg, the service enables all Visa cardholders in Singapore to
pay a variety of bills at the vPOST website or through StarHub’s i-mode service. Some of the
current billers include M1, StarHub, Community Chest, The Salvation Army and HomeTeam
NS. New billers are expected to be added in the coming months.
