In a vibrant show of colours, contemporary music and dance, fused with a haute couture collection from Singapore’s foremost designers, the
Singapore Tourism Board (STB) today unveiled a preview of the Uniquely Singapore Style Showcase to give all visitors a flavour of what can be
expected at the Singapore pavilion at Hall 26a, stand 123 at ITB Berlin in Germany from 10 to 12 March 2006.
The Uniquely Singapore Style Showcase, which is a testament to the talent in Singapore’s vibrant, sophisticated and fast-changing fashion scene,
features an array of innovative costumes and flamboyant fashion shows together with contemporary dance and music segments. Some of the best
works of Singapore’s trendiest fashion designers in the likes of Madeline Wong and Frederick Lee are showcased at the fashion shows while the
music and dance sequences are the highlight of the show displaying Singapore’s home grown talent Mothar and his theatrical showpieces. This
made-in-Singapore fashion and dance spectacle, produced by Singapore’s sought after choreographer Daniel Boey and Darren Seah, will host one
show at 5pm on Friday 10 March 2006, followed by three shows each at 11:30am, 2:30pm and 4:30pm on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 March 2006,
as ITB Berlin 2006 opens up to an estimated 65,000 consumers and members of the media, through the weekend, from Germany and all over the
world.
Visitors to the pavilion will also be able to see one of the show’s largest video walls featuring various aspects of Singapore that include attractions,
shopping, food, entertainment and the arts, nightlife and business hub that make Singapore a unique, attractive and must-visit destination. In
keeping with the changing entertainment and lifestyle scene in Singapore, the pavilion is designed to resemble a sophisticated and contemporary
lounge bar using cutting edge multimedia technology.
“The Uniquely Singapore Style Showcase, together with the ‘new look pavilion’ at ITB Berlin aims to replicate the sophistication, pulse and vibrancy
that characterizes Singapore today”, said Mr Ken Low, Assistant Chief Executive, Brand and Communications at STB. This vibrancy and energy is
a reflection of the changes that have taken place in Singapore, driven by the introduction of many exciting products in its entertainment, arts,
business and attractions scene. “We want to share a capsule of these exciting times and Singapore’s evolution with global audiences, through our
experiential pavilion at ITB 2006 and extend a warm invitation to visitors to our booth to come and get a flavour of all of these in Singapore!” he
added.
