Omani Khalifa Said Al Abri, 42, has become Gulf Air’s first winner of the Million Miles 2005 draw which is still up for grabs for members of its frequent flyer
programme. Mr Al
Abri has been a Silver member since 1995.
Mr Al Abri
said he plans to spend his million miles travelling with his wife and eight children during the summer holidays next year.
Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the Sultanate of Oman, announced last month that it was offering members of its
Frequent flyer programme (FFP) the chance to win a million miles of free travel.
Members who travel anywhere on the Gulf Air or Gulf Traveller network from 15 September to 15 December 2005 can go into three draws to win a million Frequent flyer
miles, allowing them to travel for free to any of the airline’s 50 destinations worldwide.
Gulf Air is offering not just one, but three chances to win, by drawing three winners over the entire promotion period from September to December.
The first winner,
Mr Al Abri, was drawn on 20 October. The second will be named on 20 November and the final winner will be drawn on 20 December, with a total of three million
miles up for grabs to three lucky passengers.
Winners will be able to redeem their million miles on any Gulf Air or Gulf Traveller flight.
“The lucky winners could enjoy 166 return flights from Bahrain to Dubai, or 20 return flights from Bahrain to Gulf Air’s key European destinations of London,
Paris, or Frankfurt,” said Gulf Air Manager Loyalty Programmes Louise Robertson.
“Or the winners might enjoy exploring Gulf Air’s latest destinations, with 10 free return flights on our SkyBed from Bahrain to Dublin or Johannesburg.
Alternatively they may wish explore Down Under and use their million miles for nine flights from Bahrain to Sydney.”
In addition to this giveaway bonanza, Gulf Air is also offering a million seats for sale at drastically reduced fares, which began selling on 15 September and will continue
until 15 December 2005.
These
reduced fares include flights to key destinations across the Gulf Air network, including return flights from Bahrain to Dubai for just 29 BHD, or to Abu Dhabi for 48
BHD, and to Karachi for just 79 BHD.
