Singapore Airlines
is adjusting its fuel surcharge for tickets issued on or after 14 September 2005. The new levels are as follows:
- An increment of US$3, to US$15 per sector, for flights between Singapore and Bandar Seri Begawan, Bangkok, Denpasar, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Jakarta, Manila,
Penang and Surabaya. The same increment will apply on Kuala Lumpur flights for tickets issued on or after 21 September 2005.
- An increment of US$5, to US$50 per sector, on all other flights.
The new surcharge is subject to official approval in some markets. The
airline stated that adjustments will offer only partial relief of higher operating costs arising from persistently high jet
fuel price, which is hovering above US$80 per barrel, as compared to US$70 per barrel when the
airline's surcharge was last revised in July 2005.
