Galileo International,
a global distribution services (GDS) company, has enhanced its Agency Private Fares solution which gives agents across EMEA and Asia Pacific
greater and easier control over how they manage specially negotiated fares which have been filed by airlines.
Since its launch two years ago, Galileo’s Agency Private Fares solution has enabled its travel agency customers to file and administer their special negotiated fares,
often referred to as private fare data. The new enhancements give agents the ability, flexibility and power to quickly and easily adapt and manipulate public or private
fares already filed by an airline, enabling them to take full advantage of the trend towards the filing of ‘Category 35’ fares. ‘Category 35’
is a method by which airlines can file detailed agent-specific automated private fares and ticketing information
An increasing number of airlines are filing ‘Category 35’ fares via the Airline Tariff Publishing Company (ATPCO), requiring agents to make changes to mark-up and
distribute these net fares. The upgrade to Agency Private Fares enables agents to mark fare prices up or down as well as waive, amend or add rules and then
redistribute these fares within the whole agency group. Additionally, should the airline make future changes to the net price, the viewed desktop price will automatically
and dynamically be updated to reflect the changes already made without any further input by the agent.
Mr Mark Rizzuto, Managing Director- Asia, Cendant TDS
said, “The increased functionality within the Galileo Agency Private Fares product means that agents can
simply and quickly create and distribute agency private fares of all types. Agents can now be sure they are offering the most accurate fares to their clients, confident in
the knowledge that the Galileo fares system fully validates all private fare rules.”
