Finnair has
signed two new maintenance agreements. A Swedish charter airline will become Finnair's first Airbus A320 aircraft maintenance customer from
outside the Group when it brings its A321 in for airframe maintenance at Finnair Technical Services. Xinjiang Airlines from
China will fly two of its ATR72 turboprop aircraft to Helsinki-Vantaa for heavy maintenance.
The first aircraft from China will arrive Friday
night, and will undergo heavy maintenance for six weeks until 11 November. The other ATR72 will arrive for similar
maintenance on 7 November. Xinjiang Airlines has altogether five ATR72s.
"The Chinese aircraft's journey from Urumqi in north-western China, close to the Mongolian border, to Helsinki will last 16 hours. The aircraft will make stops in
Karakanga in Mongolia and Samara in Russia. In addition to the heavy maintenance, the aircraft will be painted and their landing gear serviced,"
explained AVP Sari Kanerva from Finnair Technical Services.
The current agreement is
continuation of co-operation which began in early spring. Xinjiang Airlines' first ATR72 underwent similar maintenance in March.

first A320 customer
Swedish charter airline Novair's A321 aircraft will
start a five-day airframe maintenance on Monday 10 October. Novair is Finnair Technical Services' first maintenance
agreement customer for the Airbus A320 aircraft family and the agreement will make future Novair airframe maintenance work possible for
Finnair.
Novair operates three A321 aircraft and one A330. With this fleet, it carries tourists from Scandinavia to various destinations in the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands,
India, Dominican Republic and Thailand for one of Sweden's largest travel agencies, Apollo
