Virgin Atlantic is
partnering with Cowshed spa and beauty products and Bumble and bumble hair salon
for its new Clubhouse at Heathrow Airport.
With phase one opening in August, the new Clubhouse
aims to provide the ultimate pre-flight experience, with service levels and interiors designed to feel like a private members
club. To develop this, the airline has looked outside the airline industry for partners that match its aspiration. It has worked closely with Soho House, the renowned
private members club operating in London and New York (once the setting for an episode of Sex in the City) and in Somerset at Babington House. Also, Jean-Michel
Dixte has been appointed Clubhouse General Manager and brings his expertise in delivering world-class service from, amongst others, the Savoy Hotel and
Claridges.
Virgin Atlantic will also be working with Soho House’s spa brand Cowshed, where, from the summer, Upper Class passengers can treat themselves to a selection of
exclusive Cowgroom treatments including facials, head and shoulder massages, manicure and pedicures and a wet shave for men, all in the supremely comfortable
Cowgroom chair. Cowshed products are made using hand picked herbs from the walled garden at Babington House in Somerset and contain 100% natural
ingredients.
The eponymous body and bath range has been created using subtle herbal infusions as well as high quality pure essential oils from around the world. The range is also
recognised for its quirky bovine-inspired names such as Dirty Cow hand wash, Cow Pat moisturising hand cream and Frisky Cow foam bath, all of which will be
available to Virgin's Upper Class passengers.
To provide the complete package, the spa will offer hair styling, cutting and treatments courtesy of the famed NYC-based Bumble and bumble Salons. Bumble and
bumble trained stylists will offer haircuts for men and women recommending styles from the latest fashion season. The staff will use the latest product application
techniques and will teach clients how to use products to replicate their new style at home. Bumble and bumble products are coveted by fashion industry insiders,
celebrities, VIPs and stylish consumers around the world.
Jean-Michel
Dixte, Clubhouse General Manager commented on the spa and salon
offering, “I have only recently taken up the role of General Manager in the Clubhouse
and I am very excited to be offering these products to our Upper Class passengers - they will feel well and truly pampered by the time they board the aircraft. Both
Cowshed and Bumble and bumble already have a cult following in both London and New York and I am sure they will prove just as popular in the Virgin Clubhouse.
These days our passengers lead such busy lives and I am sure they will feel so relaxed they won’t want to leave the Clubhouse.”
