Airbus
is contributing at least one million Euros to the International Red Cross, and
putting into place a series of initiatives in order to facilitate the International Red
Cross’ daily work in the field.
The
aircraft manufacturer is putting one of its A300-600 Super Transporters, nicknamed “Beluga”, at the disposal of the International Red
Cross. This aircraft will allow to transport to the regions affected by the
Tsunami disaster the necessary emergency material, as well as exceptionally bulky equipment such as
helicopters and water purification devices.
“On behalf of all the Airbus employees, I would like to express our sincere condolences to all those who have been touched by these devastating events. Our thoughts
go out to the families and friends of those who were affected,” said Noël
Forgeard, CEO and President of Airbus. “We want to contribute to the aid operation as well as
provide relief in these tragic circumstances.”

Airbus will do its utmost to contribute to this in any way possible.” Mr. Forgeard added.
