Airline, Hong Kong Express, today launched a new scheduled service between Hong Kong and Hangzhou. The new route, the airline’s second, will be
served initially with two flights daily increasing later this month to three flights daily and operated using the airline’s second of four 76 seat Embraer 170 aircraft currently
on order.
“We are thrilled that our planned roll out of services has stayed on track and that we are really able to offer travellers
- now both business and leisure - more convenient travel options between Hong Kong and Mainland China,” said Mr. Andrew Tse, Hong Kong Express CEO. “By the end of this year, our routes will carry more than
500,000 passengers per annum representing a significant boost to local industry and tourism.”
Today’s launch follows the recent introduction by the airline of a four times daily scheduled service between Hong Kong and Guangzhou. Flights to
Nanjing, Chongqing and Ningbo will be subsequently launched throughout the latter months of 2005 into early 2006.
Famed for its natural beauty and considered by many to be the most beautiful city in China, Hangzhou - the capital of the Zhejiang province situated just 180 km outside
of Shanghai is one of South East China’s major economic and transportation hubs.
The airline’s regular one-way fare from Hong Kong to Hangzhou is
HK$1,660 with a return fare costing HK$3,160.
