Dubai eGovernment is stepping up its efforts to increase customer adoption and enhance the quality of its eServices, in its drive to transform Dubai into an
eSociety. This was conveyed by Mahmood Al Bastaki, Acting eServices Director, Dubai eGovernment, during his testimonial presentation at a special event organised by Intel,
titled 'Digital Transformations in the GCC; The Opportunity Ahead'.
Al Bastaki attributed the achievements of Dubai eGovernment to the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Defence
Minister. "When Sheikh Mohammad launched the Dubai eGovernment project, he emphasised the need to offer high quality services through innovative Channels. We
are totally committed to offer our expertise in eServices to various government departments in Dubai and the UAE, to accelerate our progress towards a digital
economy," he said.
Highlighting some of the key achievements of Dubai eGovernment, Al Bastaki added, "We have achieved the reinvention and simplification of government processes by
eliminating red tape and reducing bureaucracy. Over the years we have enhanced the quality of rendered services for the public, ensuring transparency, integrity and
accountability in our operations. At present we offer more than 1600 online Services through our user-friendly portal.
We are constantly opening new channels of communication with various government departments to maximise our operating efficiency and productivity."
Al Bastaki introduced a practical emergency application service offered by Dubai police which exemplify the use of technology in easing the lives of people. Engineer
Ahmed Al Muhairi, has demonstrated the application which was highly applauded. The system incorporates GPS receiver that can be hand held and even fitted into
vehicles. Dubai Police has been effectively using GPS, installed in their BMW cars to track down vehicles in any part of the emirate. This department has benefited
immensely by making use of the latest technological advancements.
Intel's event was led by the company's Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Craig Barret who shared Intel's vision and suggested strategies for increased economic
competitiveness of the GCC through technology and digital transformations.
Top government and business leaders from around the GCC were present at the event to discuss the impact of digital trends and future technologies
