Jan Verduyn has been appointed General Manager of the Dusit Laguna Resort, Phuket, replacing Sam-Erik Ruttmann, who has moved to Dubai as Regional Vice
President in charge of the newly-opened Dusit Middle East Regional Office.
A Belgian national, Mr Verduyn has over 20 years experience in the hospitality industry. Immediately prior to his new post, he was General Manager of the Anassa Resort
& Spa Hotel in Cyprus. His career has taken him to various hotels in different cities, including
General Manager at Yaounde Hilton (Cameroon), Hilton Hanoi Opera (Vietnam), Royal Windsor Hotel (Brussels), Grand Regency Hotel (Nairobi) and Paradise Hotel and Casino
(Busan, Korea).
His association for many years with Hilton hotels in many countries in the early part of his hotelier career in various positions such as Restaurant Auditor, Night Auditor,
Food & Beverage Cost Accountant, Chief Steward, and Food & Beverage Analyst, has given him a thorough knowledge and understanding of hotel operations.
