Virgin Atlantic has launched a new online golf tournament, Flying Club Swingers, which is open to all members of its frequent flyer programme. The
tournament allows members to test their golfing skills against other Flying Club members and compete for a place in the final at The Grove Golf Course,
Hertfordshire, where a variety of prizes can be won. Launched in April 1800 Flying Club members have
so far joined the tournament and 236 scores have been verified.
The very first Flying Club Swinger to register was Sir Richard Branson, Virgin Atlantic’s chairman. Sir Richard Branson
commented, “We are delighted to offer this exciting golf tournament to our frequent flyers. The competition should be all about taking part and having fun. Following the success of
last year’s golf event, we have recognised that many of our loyal customers have a keen interest in the sport and we are looking forward to seeing how they compete
against each other in this innovative online competition.”
Members will not need to be regular golfers or have a handicap to compete. They will be able to enter scores from club competitions, corporate golf days and matches
against each other. Prizes, including Virgin Atlantic flights, Virgin vouchers and golfing goodies will be offered for Player of the Month and other competitions
that will run throughout the season. To join visit: www.virgin.com/flyingclub
