The Oriental,
Singapore recently appointed Ms. Julie Chan as Director of Sales and Marketing.
Julie joins the hotel from The Regent Shanghai where she was the Director of Marketing, responsible
for the entire marketing and sales pre-opening activities for the launch of the first Regent brand in China.
Julie has also spent about fifteen years as Director of Sales and Marketing with various five-star deluxe hotels including Crowne Plaza Shanghai, Kempinski Hotel
Beijing Lufthansa Centre, Penang Parkroyal Resort and Shangri-La International Penang properties, covering Rasa Sayang, Golden Sands Resorts and Shangri-la Hotel.
Born and educated in Malaysia, Julie has received many external training in business management such as “Strategic Management Programme for Inbound and
Domestic Tour Operators”, “Understanding Financial Statement” and “Middle Management Development
Programme”.
As Director of Sales and Marketing at The Oriental, Singapore, Julie will be responsible for formulating the hotel’s marketing plan, pricing and rate structures as well as
the hotel’s long-term budget plan. Her role also entails leading and supporting the Sales and Marketing team segmented by Corporate and Travel Sales, Conference &
Banquet Sales, Public Relations and Reservations - to increase profitability and visibility of The Oriental, Singapore within Singapore and regionally.
