Showcasing a record number of its properties across Asia Pacific, North America and Europe, the 2005 Hyatt Fairs look set to attract strong attendance. Taking place
between 31st May and 9th June at Grand Hyatt Hotels in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Singapore, the Hyatt Fairs will offer corporate travel buyers, meeting
planners, travel agents and industry decision makers from around the region the opportunity to hear personally about Hyatt’s developments and discuss future
business opportunities.
“It is a clear indicator of success that more than 30 Hyatt Hotels and Resorts will attend in Hong Kong and Singapore, and over 20 in Beijing and Shanghai,” commented
Grahame Carder, Vice President – marketing, Asia/Pacific, Hyatt International. “As the world increasingly looks towards Asia as the future of the travel industry, our
chosen host cities are already significant source markets for travel within Asia and increasingly important for those in the Pacific, North America and Europe,” he added.
The Hyatt Fairs in Beijing and Shanghai will introduce the recently opened Hyatt Regency Hangzhou along with 12 new hotel projects under development in Mainland
China. The new hotels will open over the next three years, and will include Park Hyatt Beijing, Park Hyatt Macau, Park Hyatt Shanghai, Grand Hyatt Guangzhou, plus
eight new Hyatt Regency hotels in Anting, Beijing, Chongqing, Dongguan, Nanjing, Ningbo, Sanya and Shanghai.
Hyatt Fairs have seen consistent growth since their inception eleven years ago. They provide an excellent environment to showcase properties, highlight new projects
and allow buyers to deal directly with the network of Hyatt hotels. The Fairs are structured for corporate and travel industry appointments throughout
each day.
There are 212 hotels and resorts (over 90,000 rooms) in 43 countries around the world, operating under the Hyatt*, Hyatt Regency*, Grand Hyatt* and Park Hyatt* brands.
Currently, there are an additional 27 Hyatt hotels and resorts under development, including 10 new hotels in China. Hyatt Corporation (domestic U.S., Canada and
Caribbean hotels) and Hyatt International Corporation (international properties) are subsidiaries of Chicago-based Global Hyatt Corporation. Global Hyatt Corporation is
also the owner of Hyatt Vacation Club, Inc. (timeshare), Hyatt Equities, L.L.C. (hotel ownership), and U.S. Franchise Systems, Inc. (which franchises Hawthorn Suites,
Microtel and Best Inns).
In January 2005, Global Hyatt Corporation also added an additional 143 U.S. properties to its growing portfolio with the acquisition of the upscale, limited service
AmeriSuites hotel chain. These properties will be repositioned and renamed under a new Hyatt brand by early 2006.
