Virgin
Nigeria today began operations from London Gatwick into Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos. Flights will operate from Gatwick departing on
Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays and return on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays into Gatwick. Virgin Nigeria previously operated services from London Heathrow to
Lagos.
The Lagos bound flight which took off from the Gatwick Airport’s South Terminal today at 09:45 will arrive into Lagos at 17:30.
Graham Keddie, Chief Commercial Officer of Virgin Nigeria,
said, “Gatwick provides our customers with excellent links to London, the North of England, the South coast as well as flight connections of up to 200 destinations around
the world.”
All Virgin Nigeria flights between Gatwick and Lagos will be operated by Virgin Nigeria’s modern A340-300 aircraft with a configuration of 40 Business Class, 28 Premium
Economy and 187 Economy class. Customers will also be experiencing Virgin Nigeria’s new product which includes a dynamic in-flight entertainment system featuring
a Nigerian Channel, Nigerian onboard meals as well as Nigerian Crew.
The launch of flights from London Gatwick into Lagos coincides with the launch of flights from Lagos to Johannesburg, bringing the number of destinations operated
by Virgin Nigeria to six in just over a hundred days of flying.
