Virgin Blue’s international airline Pacific
Blue has appointed former Polynesian Airlines Manager of Training and Standards, Phil Meredith,
as its new Flight Standards & Training Manager.
Pacific Blue Flight Operations Manager Tony Parrish said, “Our search to fill this role was extensive and we know the decision to bring Phil across from his role at
Polynesian is the ideal solution for the company. His skills and experience are broad and he brings a great deal of knowledge to the role.”
Phil’s knowledge and expertise will also help ensure a smooth transition for the launch of Polynesian Blue in October.
Prior to his role as the Manager of Training and Standards, Phil was Polynesian Airlines Chief Pilot. He has had
19,100 total hours flying time with 17,000 hours flying in the South Pacific with Polynesian Airlines. Phil has operated a multitude of aircraft including a HS-748, B737-200, B727-200, B737-300 and a B737-800. He was employed
by Polynesian Airlines for 31 years.
