Sheraton Hotels & Resorts
has developed the brand's newest treat for guests: the Sheraton Sweet Sleeper
Bed. The hotel giant, owners and franchisees are putting over 7,000 new beds in Sheraton hotels in
Asia Pacific starting from August 2005.
Some may say that Starwood is obsessed with helping people get a good night's sleep. Starwood Hotels & Resorts
Worldwide, Sheraton's parent company, spent the last five years upgrading the beds in all its hotel rooms worldwide. In 1998 when W Hotels was launched, the brand’s bed was modeled after the then creator of
W, Barry Sternlicht’s own bed at home. In 1999, Westin Hotels & Resorts started,
what some would call, a 'bedding revolution' when it threw out all the old beds at Westin Hotels and introduced
the now iconic Westin Heavenly Bed®. Now Starwood has tackled its most global and oldest brand, Sheraton, and developed a luxurious multi-layered custom designed
bed that features an 11.5 inch thick, high coil count plush top mattress, crisp cotton sheets, soft blanket, cozy duvet and feather-down pillows. In a nod to Sheraton's
classic aesthetic, the beds feature a selection of duvet patterns in rich color tones.
"When we launched the Heavenly Bed in 1999, other hotel executives thought we were crazy. Six years later Westin's guest satisfaction scores, market share and global
growth are up significantly, and we're selling our Heavenly Beds to our guests as well! I am just thrilled to introduce a great new bed to our classic brand and improving
the sleeping experience of more travelers,” commented Miguel Ko, President of Starwood Asia Pacific.
Guests can now enjoy a great night’s sleep with more than 4,000 new beds installed at Sheraton hotels and resorts located in key cities throughout Asia Pacific,
including Bangkok, Beijing, Hong Kong, Saigon, Sydney, Taipei and Tokyo. By the end 2006, more than 7,000 rooms will feature the new beds.
In conjunction with the launch of Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Bed in Asia Pacific, the brand is introducing a special offer: “Sheraton Sweet Nights” which includes
accommodation in participating hotels and resorts featuring the Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Bed,
US$20 credit that can be used against incidentals, and a ‘sweet’ bed time
amenity. The package is available from 22nd August till 30th October 2005.
