Dubai Radio Network Signs Up as Official Radio Broadcaster at ATM 2005

Travel News Asia 23 February 2005

Dubai Radio Network (DRN) has signed as official radio broadcaster for the Arabian Travel Market 2005 (ATM), the Middle East’s premier event for the travel and tourism industry, bringing the popular show over the airwaves to Dubai audiences across four of its main frequencies. DRN will broadcast from the ATM, being held in halls one through seven at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 3rd to 6th May 2005.

“This agreement provides excellent synergy between one of the most appealing events in Dubai and its most popular radio stations,” said Vicky Crane, Marketing Manager Overseas Events at Reed Travel Exhibitions, organisers of ATM.

“It’s a tremendous opportunity for Dubai to hear first hand about the Arabian Travel Market and what it has to offer. We hope it will encourage many people to visit the show during its public opening hours on the last two days of the show.”

On the first two days of the show, DRN will broadcast its entire English and Arabic Dubai Eye schedules from a dedicated sound booth at the ATM. On the Thursday and Friday of the show, broadcasting will switch to Dubai 92 and Dubai 93.9 (Saut El-Asala) as the show becomes more consumer orientated and its doors open to members of the public.

“The variety of exhibitors and usually high number of announcements at the ATM gives Dubai Eye ample opportunity to give our listeners interesting news on the local, regional and international travel and tourism industry,” said Greg Burns, Head of Programming, Dubai Eye.

“We’ll be arranging some insightful interviews with leading industry figures as well as offering listener competitions throughout the four days of broadcasting.”

The ATM 2005 currently has 207 exhibitors from 48 countries confirmed to participate, including 41 national and regional tourist bodies. It is already 99 per cent contracted, and at 14,200 square metres of floor space, the event has 4,000 additional square metres available.
