Mr
John G C Wood has been appointed as the General Manager of Le Méridien Split, which
is scheduled to open in the 3rd Quarter of 2006.
The
hotel, currently the Hotel Lav, is undergoing a massive transformation with
no expense being spared to create something unique. Interior Designs are all being done by the
internationally acclaimed Italian Interior Decorator, Lorenzo Bellini.
John Wood, who has worked for 10 years with Le Méridien, joins the hotel from Moscow, after having spent more than 3.5 years running
Le Méridien Moscow Country Club. This will be the 7th hotel that he has opened.
The
resort, which will increase the bed capacity of Split by 65% in 2006,
will offer 382 Rooms and Suites, which are among the biggest in Croatia. Le Méridien
Split will also have a 2,500 sq.m. Conference Centre, a Health and Wellness Centre, an International Standard Casino and a Night
Club. In addition, there will be a Promenade in front of the resort with restaurants, bars and shops
overlooking the exclusive marina that will take 40 good sized yachts.
