Jetstar Asia has opened ticket sales
for a four-times weekly service to Phuket that will commence on 25 October
2005. To celebrate the launch, Jetstar Asia is offering a special fare of
Sin$22 for travel up to December 15. Thereafter, everyday low fares will start from
Sin$48.
Jetstar Asia service 3K 517 will depart from Changi Airport
in Singapore at 7:05am arriving in Phuket at 7:45am every Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The return leg will depart
Phuket at 8:45am, arriving in Singapore at 11:25am.
“Phuket is one of the great tourist destinations. With rebuilding almost complete, we are confident that demand will grow, occupancy rates of hotels will continue to
increase, and our new service will make commercial sense,” said Mr Ken Ryan, CEO of Jetstar Asia.
Ms Eumporn Jiragalwisul, Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand added, “We are very glad that Jetstar Asia made the decision to fly to Phuket. With the additional
flights, it will definitely help to bring in more visitors from Singapore and the Asia Pacific region to Phuket and its surrounding provinces, such as Phang Nga, Khao Lak
and Krabi, which will give the tourism industries there an added boost. The new flights are indeed timely to give the Andaman area a higher capacity for tourist arrivals in
the upcoming high season.”
