United Airlines
has named David R. Ruch as General Manager for Korea, effective Aug. 1, 2005. In this role, Ruch will be the senior company
representative in Korea, responsible for sales and marketing, daily operations, as well as government, community and industry relationships for the important Korean
market.
Ruch will be based out of United's office in Seoul, Korea and will be responsible for operational performance, including customer satisfaction and the flow of all cargo.
"David brings a tremendous wealth of airline knowledge to United, having served most recently as the head of the Lacek Group-Korea, a division of OgilvyOne, where he
specialized in the airline and hospitality industries. He also has an impressive 18 years of airline operational experience and has worked in Asia for 22 years. We are
confident that his focus on operational management and business development will mean the highest levels of service for our customers traveling to and from Korea,"
said Mark Schwab, vice president - Pacific.
The
Asia Pacific region, one of the fastest growing in the world, accounts for nearly 25% of United's daily flight capacity.
