Jazeera Airways,
a new, privately owned airline of Kuwait, has signed a contract with Airbus for six more Airbus A320s, taking its total orders for the model to ten.
Jazeera Airways inaugurated airline services last month with its first two aircraft. It will use the additional A320s to increase services on existing routes within the
Middle East, as well as to begin routes to new destinations.
Each of Jazeera’s A320s will seat 165 passengers in a single-class layout, and be powered by CFM International CFM56-5 engines.
“We have shown that, with the Airbus A320, we can deliver a quality product at an affordable price, and we are now looking to spread that success more widely,”
said Jazeera Airways Chairman and CEO, Marwan Boodai. “We are also complementing the new technology of the Airbus A320 in the air with the latest Internet reservation
technology on the ground.”
