Roslyn Chan
has been appointed as the Area Director of Sales and Marketing for Le Méridien She Shan Shanghai and Le
Royal Méridien Shanghai.
A Malaysian national, Chan has enjoyed a distinguished hospitality career that began when she joined the Shangri-La Hotel in Beijing as the Sales Manager in 1990. In
1994, she moved to head up the Marketing team at the Shangri-La Golden Flower, Xian and was subsequently promoted to the position of Director of Sales at the
Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort in Kota Kinabalu in 1995. At the prestigious property, she was responsible for a number of sales and marketing initiatives while assisting
with the marketing plan and positioning of the newly developed sister property the Shangri-La Rasa Ria Resort.
Moving onto the Shangri-La Hotel in Changchun in 1997, Chan joined during the pre-opening stage and held the responsibility of maximizing market share and
optimizing profit return for the Asia Pacific portfolio.
In 1998, Chan brought her extensive experience in hotel management to Shanghai
JC Mandarin Hotel where she focused on maintaining hotel occupancy during the
Asian financial crisis. In 2001, she moved to Radisson Plaza Xing Guo Hotel
Shanghai, a state-owned hotel, and helped with the opening and supervision of
the property.
Chan’s key focus at Le Méridien She Shan Shanghai and Le
Royal Méridien will be on strategic growth and positioning of these new
properties in Shanghai.
