Virgin
Blue is to launch a “Happy 1st Birthday Jetstar” sale with 1 million
and 1 seats up for grabs from A$28 one way on the net.
In line with its successful campaign for airlines to advertise all inclusive fares, the price takes in fees and charges, including airport charges, fuel levy, global security
charge and GST.
Virgin Blue’s Chief Executive Officer, Brett Godfrey, said,
“We operate in a fiercely competitive aviation environment and we believe this competition is a great thing for consumers who have reaped the benefits of Virgin Blue’s
efforts to “keep the air fair”. We very much appreciate and acknowledge the strong and loyal support Virgin Blue has received from the travelling public.”
He continued, “We recognise Jetstar’s 1st birthday offer of 1-million fares and to celebrate its birthday, we will raise the number of fares available by 1 and lower the
lead-in fare price by A$1.”
The Virgin Blue “Happy 1st Birthday Jetstar” fares are on sale
until midnight 25 May 2005 on selected routes for travel between 1 June 2005 to 15 December
2005.
Fares are one way on the net, or
A$10 more by phone. A credit card surcharge of an additional A$2 per person per one way flight is applicable. Fares are subject to
availability and may not be available on all flights or peak days. Fares are on sale
until the 25 May 2005 or until sold out.
