Following a three month closure for refurbishment Le Méridien Barcelona has re-opened, unveiling its renovated neo-classical façade and a new bedroom design
concept. Best described as a blend of modern and traditional, the room design encapsulates a sense of luxury and relaxed comfort.
Two elements within the bedroom design provide a ‘taste of Barcelona’ – the glass installations inspired by Antonio Gaudi’s famous architecture, which illuminate the
entrance area of the rooms and the specially designed carpet, which incorporates into its design a street plan of the city’s central district.
Care has been taken to provide maximum comfort in all 233 rooms and suites. Features include a Le Méridien bed with
a 14” mattress, feather down quilts and pillows, Egyptian cotton bed linen and a 42” plasma TV with interactive systems. The new bathrooms have the latest rain shower system and a 15-inch LCD TV.
The room colours change from crisp whites, refreshing green and natural stone in the bathroom to the warmth of violet, red and yellow in the main area of the bedrooms.
Other in-room elements include ironing facilities, safe, access to high speed Internet, large desk and work space, tea
and coffee making and air conditioning/heating adaptable to individual requirements.
The launch of the new bedroom concept follows on from the renovation of all the hotels three floors of suites, which was completed in 2002.
