Le Meridien appoints Malcolm Kerr as Vice President Development Asia Pacific

Le Méridien has appointed Malcolm Kerr Vice President Development Asia Pacific. Based in the Hong Kong regional corporate office, Mr. Kerr leads the growth and enhancement of the Le Méridien portfolio in the Asia Pacific region with overall responsibility for negotiating new management agreements and handling investment matters with the company’s Asia Pacific property owners.

Mr. Michael Sagild, Regional Managing Director Asia Pacific said, "We are delighted to have Malcolm extending his role with Le Méridien and are confident that his proven expertise and experience will drive the continued growth of the Le Méridien brand throughout Asia Pacific.”

Mr. Kerr has worked with Le Méridien over the past 3 years as Director of Development Asia Pacific and has over 12 years of hotel planning and development experience in Asia Pacific including roles as Managing Director of KerrWood, a privately held hotel advisory practice, and as Director of FPDSavills Hotels and Leisure.

Le Meridien currently operates over 130 luxury hotels worldwide including 30 in Asia Pacific. Within the past 12 months in Asia the group has opened new properties in Hong Kong, Siem Reap (Cambodia), Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok. Properties opening soon include:

• Le Méridien She Shan, Shanghai, 325 rooms, opening in late 2005
• Le Royal Méridien Shanghai, 770 rooms, opening in early 2006
• Le Méridien Chiang Mai, 480 rooms, opening in 2007
• Le Méridien Bangkok, 350 rooms, opening in 2007
