Finnair Technical Services and Gemini Air Cargo have signed
a maintenance support contract which covers the Component and Auxiliary Power Unit
maintenance for four Boeing MD-11 and seven DC-10-30 Cargo aircraft.
The
contract is worth in excess of 8 million euros annually.
The maintenance support starts in July. The contract for the DC-10 aircraft
is for five years and for the MD-11 aircraft seven years. The previous service
provider was Alitalia.
Of Finnair Technical Services's approximately 200 million euro turnover, one third comes from maintenance contracts with third-party customers like Aeroflot, Martinair
and World Airways.
