Dragonair
recently sponsored air travel to Phnom Penh in Cambodia for 31 students and teachers to participate in a study tour organised by International Christian
Concern, a non-profit charity, as part of educational initiatives under the airline’s Corporate Social Responsibility
Programme.
“The trip gave the students aged 14 – 17 the opportunity to experience a very different environment and culture from Hong Kong, hopefully leading to greater
understanding and fostering a sense of purpose and responsibility among them,” said Andy Tung, Chief Operating Officer of
Dragonair.
As well as visiting historical sites in Phnom Penh, the group also saw first-hand the daily hardships that some of the city’s poorer residents face, and had a chance to
meet students of the same age.
