In its continuing efforts to provide a unique and unforgettable experience to visitors
of Siem Reap, Cambodia, the Shinta Mani Hotel and Institute of Hospitality
have launched a 'Visiting Friends' package.
Visiting Friends is about meeting, learning and sharing with the people of Cambodia.
A guide takes the guest from the hotel to tour a village outside of Siem Reap to see how local Cambodians live off the land.
The guest can then later visit with a Cambodian family in their home. Over
refreshments, the guest has the opportunity to learn about life in Cambodia. At the end of
the visit, the guest presents the family with a 4 kilogram bag of rice;
a traditional Khmer gift of appreciation.
Shinta Mani has partnered with Tabitha Cambodia, a local NGO, to offer Visiting Friends as a way to promote awareness and foster supportive connections within the
local Cambodian community. The package includes two nights accommodation at Shinta Mani with breakfast, transportation with a hotel guide to and from the village,
refreshments and the gift of rice. Visiting Friends is effective from June 1st until August 31st and is priced at
US$196 plus tax based on single or double occupancy.
Shinta Mani, derived from Sanskrit, means “the gem that provides for all”; an appropriate name for this 18-room boutique hotel which has integrated community-based
activities into its operations and gives guests an opportunity to connect on a personal level with the people of Cambodia.
