Air Canada today inaugurated a new all-cargo service to Shanghai from Toronto's Pearson International Airport. These all-cargo flights will operate three times weekly
using an MD-11 aircraft with a total cargo capacity of 84 tonnes.
This new service comes just a few weeks after a new
bilateral air services agreement was signed between Canada and China permitting additional passenger and cargo aircraft frequencies.
"We are pleased to offer our customers main deck capacity to the country with the fastest growing economy in the world. We plan to take advantage of the new bilateral
air agreement by quickly increasing our presence in China," said Claude Morin, vice president of Air Canada's cargo operation.
