Air Arabia opens Travel Shop in Alexandria

Travel News Asia 13 March 2005

In response to the growing travel market within the Middle East, Air Arabia, a UAE based low cost airline, opened its fifteenth travel shop in the Middle East earlier this month, in Alexandria and the second travel shop in Egypt following its Cairo shop opening last year.

Speaking at the travel shop inauguration, Air Arabia’s Chairman, His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah Bin Moh’d Al-Thani said, “Customer demand for the low-cost airline concept encouraged us to open an Air Arabia branded travel shop in Cairo last year and increasing passenger demand has followed with the Alexandria opening. We want to ensure that we give our customers the service that they require – we believe that the opening of this shop will enable us to do this better.”

Flights from Alexandria’s central Al Nozha Airport depart twice daily every Monday, Thursday and Friday at 10:15 and 01:45 with arrival at Sharjah International Airport at 15:50 and 07:20 local time respectively, in addition to flights every Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 01:45 with arrival at Sharjah at 07:20 local time. Passengers can take advantage of easy connections from Alexandria to Cairo by road or rail.

Air Arabia is a Sharjah government owned airline currently flying from Sharjah ten times a week to Alexandria; daily to Bahrain, Beirut, Colombo, Doha and Muscat; five days a week to Damascus and Kuwait; four days a week to Dammam; three days a week to Khartoum and Aleppo; and two days a week to Assiut, Jeddah, Riyadh and Sana’a.
