Executive
airline, Hong Kong Express, today launched flights between Hong Kong and Ningbo in Mainland China. Using its most recently delivered 76-seat Embraer
170 aircraft, Hong Kong Express will service the new route with two flights daily to provide
travellers with the convenient option of same day return trips.
“Today’s launch is a real high note on which to end the year,” said Dr. James Yeung, Hong Kong Express Commercial Director. “In only the few short months since our
launch in August, we have now successfully opened three routes into Mainland China. With each launch, I become more confident that what is fast becoming our
hallmark – convenience and comfort, is precisely what will see us not only continue to expand successfully across Mainland China, but beyond into wider Asia.”
Located on the Eastern edge of China’s Zhejiang province, the port city of Ningbo is one of the Mainland’s top international trading hubs. To accommodate the city’s
significant year on year growth in inbound business travel and of late its growth in leisure market arrivals, Ningbo has undergone significant development and
expansion of its infrastructure and facilities – including the now world-class Lishe International Airport.
To celebrate the launch of its Ningbo service which comes just weeks after Hong Kong Express introduced flights between Hong Kong and Hangzhou, the
airline is offering a free one-way HeliExpress helicopter ticket between Hong Kong and Macau to all travellers who book a Hong Kong - Ningbo return trip at full published fare
before December 31st 2005.
A Hong Kong Express regular return fare from Hong Kong to Ningbo costs HK$
3,300. Further routes to Nanjing and Chongqing are scheduled to commence in early 2006.
