Air Tahiti Nui, the international airline of Tahiti and her Islands,
is to operate a later departure time for its two weekly Sydney-Tahiti flights when daylight saving takes effect
in NSW next month.
From 31 October, the airline will shift its Monday and Saturday morning Airbus A340 departures from the current 9.15am to 10.30am, arriving in Tahiti at 8.45pm the
previous day.
“The later departure for our two non-stop flights to Tahiti gives passengers in Sydney more time to reach the airport, or more time to relax or shop once they check in,”
said Craig Lee, Regional Director Australia for Air Tahiti Nui.
“The later departures also make it easier for passengers from Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide to make same-day connections to our flights, instead of having to
spend the previous night in Sydney,” added Mr Lee.
Although Air Tahiti Nui flights will leave Sydney later during the summer schedule period, they will still connect smoothly with onward non-stop flights from Papeete to
both New York and Los Angeles.
The daylight saving schedule will remain in effect until 26 March, 2006.
