Tahiti Tourisme has launched its 2005 Tahiti Roadshow in Australia, with strong attendances at yesterday's opening day in Sydney, and more seminars planned
throughout this week, with Melbourne's event Tuesday afternoon, Brisbane
Wednesday afternoon and the Gold Coast on Thursday.
The 2005 roadshows coincide with the launch on Saturday by
Air Tahiti Nui of twice-weekly non stop flights from Sydney to
Papeete, departing every Monday and Saturday at 9.15am.
They feature displays and presentations by key travel suppliers in Tahiti including hotels, resorts and family pensions, cruise companies, dive operators, black pearl
retailers, Australian wholesalers, and both Air Tahiti Nui and Air New Zealand, as well as stirring cultural performances by Tahitian dancers.
"The introduction of nonstop flights by Air Tahiti Nui between Australia and Papeete has really sparked fresh industry interest in Tahiti," said Jonica Paramor, Regional
Director Australia for Tahiti Tourisme.
"Our message to Australia's travel agents is simple - that Tahiti is now just seven hours away, and much more accessible with additional capacity now operating from
Australia," said Ms Paramor.
"It is a destination with everything you could want, and a growing range of very affordable holiday packages," she said.
"As well as showcasing our destination, we're using the seminars to provide destination training to Australian travel agents, and to enable them to take the first steps to
becoming Tiare agents, or destination specialists. I'm delighted to say that the response so far has been significant."
The Melbourne event will be held at the Sofitel Collins Street from 4pm - 8.30pm
Tuesday 12 July, the Brisbane event at the Hilton Brisbane from 4pm until 8.30pm
Wednesday and the Gold Coast event at the Grand Mercure / Sofitel Gold Coast in Broadbeach from 4pm to 8.30pm on Thursday.
Agents who attend the roadshows can register for a special
A$99 industry fare with Air Tahiti Nui, and also stand the chance to win
prizes of Tahiti holidays and fabulous Tahitian black pearls.
